A provincial nomination program is an easy way for Canadian immigration, which can provide permanent resident status and an opportunity to apply for Canadian citizenship after 3 years of residency. Provincial nomination program in Canada allows you to settle in Canada and secure a permanent residency in Canada. You need not undergo similar assessment as any other Canadian visa. No specific points system is in place, and individuals are not assessed against federal skilled worker program criteria. This results in a faster processing.

Most provinces of Canada have arrangements in place with the federal government of Canada that allows them to contribute directly to the process of selecting immigrants to settle in each province. To settle with permanent residence in a specific province offering a nomination scheme, you must pass through three stages.

The candidate need to hold an employment offer from an industry located within the province. In certain circumstances, it is also possible that a close family member in the province can help you to acquire your nomination certificate. Once you receive employment offer, the provincial government approves your visa. If the submission to a province is successful and you will get a nomination, it is then required to make a specific application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for permanent residency status. The following provinces offer permanent residence visas for immigration to Canada.

  • Alberta
  • Manitoba
  • Newfoundland and Labrador
  • Prince Edward Island
  • Yukon
  • British Columbia
  • New Brunswick
  • Nova Scotia
  • Saskatchewan
