New Zealand"s Working Holiday Visa Delight for Youngsters

New Zealand Working Holiday Visa
With a New Zealand working holiday visa to The Philippines, New Zealanders can now go enjoy their holiday in Philippines, while working there and staying at the same time. Since this New Zealand visa scheme is mainly focused at the youngsters, the visa will be available to youngsters aged between 18 and 30. Every year, around 100 Kiwis can go enjoy the benefits of this visa in Philippines, at the same time, around 100 Philippine passport holders can enjoy the same benefits in New Zealand, this more like a mutual exchange policy.

According to Murray McCully, the New Zealand Foreign Affairs Minister, this new visa scheme will help youngsters in New Zealand to understand the cultural diversity of other country. With over 37,000 Filipinos in New Zealand, it is now one of the largest group representing ASEAN countries in NZ. He also added that the working holiday visa scheme would further enhance trade and cultural relationships between the two countries.

According to Statistics New Zealand, total net gain of over 2800 migrants was recorded in December Last year, compared to a very low migrant arrival in December 2012. The immigration figures also showed that while comparing the arrivals and departures of migrants in 2013, out of the 94,000 migrant arrivals, 71,500 departed the same year, leaving 22,500 migrants in NZ considered as a net gain. Compared to 2012, there was a gain of 1,200 migrants in 2013. The reason considered for this growth is lesser departure to Australia and the reviving economy of NZ.

While in 2013 there was only a loss of over 19,600 migrants to Australia, the figure was far much better than the 38,800 in 2012. In 2013, the major contributors were UK with 5,800 migrants, 5,700 Chinese and 5,400 Indians. December 2013 also saw a record breaking 10 million International passenger records, which include 5 million departures and 5 million arrivals. NZ international passenger number reached a million for the first time in the year 1973.

There were a total of 381,900 arrivals for visiting purposes only in December 2013, which was the highest monthly rate ever recorded.  New Zealand residents had departed to other countries more in the last year according to Statistics New Zealand. In 2013 New Zealanders took over 2,193 million foreign trips, 1% higher than in 2012. The common destinations of the Kiwis are Australia, US, Fiji and UK.
