Different kinds of people enter the United State of America every day from different walks of life and very different cultures. Immigration has always been high in America, both legal and illegal. The homeland security secretary  has announced that those immigrants who enter the United States of America illegally should now be able to become American citizens. The reason being that it will keep America safe. This has not been welcomed by many but the homeland security secretary stands by his statement.

He believes that they eleven million people who are currently in the united states of America illegally have “earned the right to be citizens” he also said that many who entered the country illegally have earned a path to citizenship.

He wants a “common sense immigration reform” whether it will actually happen remains to be seen. However he is extremely passionate about this cause and believes it will benefit both the citizens of America, America itself and of course the illegal immigrants, many people who have entered the country illegally but who have been in the country that long working and earning have now earned the right  to become legitimate citizens of the united states of America. Many came to the country as children and so know no other way of life, no other country is home to them only America. It is in the context why he wants the common sense reform on immigration being brought in. deporting an individual who have lived in a country longer than some born there is highly unfair. These people who have only ever known America, who believe themselves that they are American should have the opportunity to become legal American citizens.

Bringing in an immigration reform would mean a more efficient and effect system would be enforced. The reform should have an earned path to citizenship. Many of the citizens who are IN the country illegally today have been in the country for over ten years.  They have raised children here  themselves. A shake up of the immigration system is long over due according to many people, especially pro immigration campaigners.

America is built on immigration. The first settlers in America were immigrants from around the world. Native Americans were the original “Americans” a country with such a deep history of immigration seems to becoming much more understanding to those who have entered the country illegally.
