USA Immigration

Legal issues have been blamed on the lack interest from the US government on how proposed visa rule changes will impact on Indian businesses. A Treasury Department spokesperson has met with the Indian finance minister but it was pointed out that the concerns have been noted but that there were limitations on what could be done to alleviate those concerns.
The changes which are part of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bill will restrict the H-B1 visa, limiting the numbers of foreign workers allowed in the US to work for overseas companies. Many Indian companies are affected by this as they cannot get skilled workers in the US. The visas will also be more expensive to obtain.

The Treasury Secretary Jack Lew has said that the US government will see what can be done to calm the fears of these companies, but that they are restricted by US laws on how much can be done.
