UK Increases Post-Study Work Period and Relaxes Employers Hiring Rules

The government of UK has declared its long-awaited White Paper of immigration, which plans reforms to rules of student visa that would prolong the time length international master’s, bachelor’s, and Ph.D. students have to live and find employment in the nation after graduating.

Critical Update about UK Post Study Work Period

The White Paper has further shown – pending a comprehensive review by spring – that the least salary threshold to be capable of accessing the jobs market would be £30,000, but notably, graduate entry positions would be subject to a weaker (unspecified) salary threshold condition and relaxed rules for organizations keen to recruit them.

Following the current M.A.C report on students, the UK government described its “skills-based”  immigration policies and declared its plans to improve the present offer to students.

All students who have finished a degree and want to live in the UK to work can profit from 06 months’ post-study leave – this is a move farther than the MAC suggestions to allow this at master’s level only; the government performed this tweak at the level of bachelor’s too. Those who have finished a Ph.D. will have 12 months.

The plans will also assure there is no boundary on the number of “true foreign students” who can arrive in the UK to study.
Enabling graduates to live on for prolonged to find a job in the UK gives the message that global students are welcome here, and we appreciate the skills they produce.

Universities will remain to campaign for a current, two-year, post-study work visa and we are supported to see that the UK government is responsible to make the change in this area.

63% of European Economic Area citizens working as engineers at UK universities get below £30,000, in important areas such as clinical medicine and biosciences EEA nationals makeup over a technical workforce quarter.

Jarvis also wrote that students of EU will also now need a study visa below these proposals, placing an extra burden on universities and students.

If we remain to engage in this or a related programme, we plan to assure that citizens of EU can study in the UK without requiring to go by the full student visa process, states the White Paper.
