Foreign Workers to Work in US
Washington: The Trump administration has publicized an additional increase of 15,000  H2B visas for low-wage foreign workers. This decision was taken after analyzing the needs of US businesses that are unable to satisfy with the recent American employees who are willing and qualified to do the work.

Department of Homeland Security quoted yesterday that “US businesses are on a verge of suffering irretrievable harm due to shortage of temporary nonagricultural workers and they will hire an  additional 15,000 temporary nonagricultural workers under the H2B programme”.

The business to qualify for this Visa are required to show under “penalty of perjury” that their business might suffer irretrievable harm if they would not employ H2-B non-immigrant workers during the fiscal year 2017.

Usually, foreign farm workers are offered H2B Visas and US employers hire the workers from Latin American countries. While the H1B visas are offered to IT professionals who are highly skilled persons. Congressional Cap of about 65,000 visas is allotted to H1B.

As per the reports, an H1B policy is being reviewed by the trump administration. But still, has not come up with any kind of policy of H1B Visas.  American Businesses especially those in Silicon Valley are suffering from an enormous shortage of highly skilled people and are insisting the trump administration to increase the cap.

The department of Homeland security on Monday after consulting Mr. Alexandra A Costa who is the secretary of Labour arrived on a decision to increase the H2B cap. He claimed that there are not enough US workers who are available to do temporary non-agricultural labor.

An annual H2B cap of about 66,000 has been set by Congress. Out of these, maximum of 33,000 H2B visas are available at the first half of the fiscal year, while the latter part with the addition of remaining H2B visas is available from April 1 through September 30.
