Tony Abbott makes an incorrect statement

January 2014, 26
EMAIL  Print A+

The statement which Prime Minister Tony Abbott made against people who arrive into the country by boats is incorrect.

Many people were having burns on their hands as the navy was forcing them to touch the boats engine said Indonesian police.

All the allegations have been denied by the government and they say that Australian naval personnel can never do that. Tony Abbott said that he believed Australian naval personnel and not people who are breaking laws.

Tony Abbott is extremely wrong in saying that the people arriving by boats into Australia are breaking laws.

Scott Morrison the Immigration minister said that the people who are trying to enter Australia by boat are travelling to Australia without any visa and our illegally entering the country but they are not breaking any law whatsoever.

Mr Abbott just crossed the line but Scott Morrison used the correct terminology.

Trying to enter Australia without a valid visa is not a criminal offence and so Tony Abbott's statement is incorrect.
