Advancements made in UK Immigration 2015
Existing government of United Kingdom has made some major advancement in the immigration rules which would be effective from 6th of April 2015.

Tier 2 (General)

As per the new amendments, Yearly Quota for Restricted Certificates of Sponsorship is limited to 20, 7000. Moreover, 2,550 applications will be granted in April, and 1,650 limited applications will be issued in coming months. And all additional applications will be carried over the next months. As noted in the COP (Code of Practice) minimum remuneration to be paid to prospective applicants is £20,800. This reportedly exempts a high earner from RLMT (Resident Labour-Market Test). Cooling of duration would be soon surged to £155,300 from £153,500. Jobs that are there on the Shortage Occupation List are exempted from the RLMT norms.

Tier 2 (Intra-Company Transfer)

Remuneration that has to be paid for Skills Transfer/ Short Term Staff/ Graduate Trainees will be soon increased to £24,800 and £41,500 will be paid for all long-term staff category.

Cooling Off

Currently, all the Tier 2 Migrants will be proffered with 12 months cooling off duration after they leave from the UK. Cooling off duration is not applicable to funding of Tier 2 leave of three months or less for prospective applicants who were offered visas after 6 April 2015.

Immigration Health Surcharge

Immigration Health Surcharge will be effective from 6 April 2015. This new plan is helpful for all non-Europeans who arrive the nation for studying, working, joining their families for a duration of six months. An interesting fact about this new amendment is that this is also applicable to all individuals who are staying in the country currently and have applied for an extended stay after 6th of April 2015. Every year nearly £200 will pay a surcharge for all prospective applicants and their dependents. Remember this surcharge is not valid for Tier 2 ICT immigrants and their family members.

Tier 1 (General)

Existing government of the country has planned to close the extension of application for Tier 1 (General) from 6 April 2015. But, individuals have the time to submit their application for settlement till April 6.

The existing Home Affairs of the country have planned to reduce the 15 visitor visa options of the country to 4. This new amendment will be effective from 24 April 2015. The new four categories would be:
  • Visitors transiting the UK
  • Visitors (standard) including Prospective Entrepreneur Visitors and Business Visitors
  • Visitors who hold their civil partnership or marriage in the UK
  • Visitors who undertake allowable paid engagements
Though these categories have been updated, there will be little more modifications in the activities which were granted the permission. Individuals who hold a valid visitor visa which was granted before 24 April 2015 can make use this new amendment to enter into their dream country.
