Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program Issues an Update of Top Demand Occupations

The list of In-Demand Occupations presently consists of 33 eligible occupations, and among them seven do not require any license

The SINP has announced an update regarding the in-demand list of occupations. It applies to International Skilled Worker – Express Entry and also to Occupations In-Demand sub-categories.

These are the important features of the Program’s International Skilled Worker sub-categories:

International Skilled Worker – Express Entry

This revised sub-category is in alignment with the federal Express Entry. Furthermore, owing to this, the   candidates in this sub-category must meet the requirements of eligibility for entering the EE  pool.

It does not require any job offer.

The authorities receive Applications from eligible candidates on the timing of arrival basis in the pool.

Successful candidates get extra 600 points in the CRS

Candidates must score at least 60 out of 100 points on the assessment grid of SINP .

Candidates must also possess work experience related to their field of study/training in a skilled occupation (NOC 0, A, or B) that has demand in Saskatchewan.

International Skilled Worker – Occupations In-Demand

The authorities receive all Applications in this base sub-category on the timing of arrival, and process them outside EE .

It does not require any job offer.

Candidates must score at least 60 out of 100 points on the S.I.N.P. assessment grid.

Applicants need to have one-year of paid work experience during the last ten years related to their field of education/training, in a skilled occupation (NOC 0, A, or B) that has demand in Saskatchewan.

Updated Occupations

Among the 33 Top demand jobs existing in the updated list, seven occupations do not need obtaining specific professional licenses. 26 occupations require professional licenses from an appropriate organization which has the authorization of Saskatchewan Government. The licensing can be completed from a nation outside Canada.

·         The SINP’s list formerly had 36 occupations. It removed12 occupations   and added nine  to the new list.

·         This is the list of occupations removed from the SINP in-demand list:

·         NOC 0811 – Managers in natural resources production and fishing

·         NOC 1122 – Professional occupations in business management consulting

·         NOC 2132 – Mechanical engineers

·         NOC 2133 – Electrical and electronics engineers

·         NOC 2141 – Industrial and manufacturing engineers

·         NOC 2151 – Architects

·         NOC 2243 – Industrial instrument technicians and mechanics

·         NOC 7231 – Machinists

·         NOC 7272 – Cabinetmakers

·         NOC 2121 – Biologists and related scientists

·         NOC 2212 – Geological and mineral technologists and technicians

·         NOC 7311 – Industrial mechanics

Recent activities in the Program

·         The Occupations In-Demand sub-category of SINP  opened on June 7 and  accepts 400 fresh applications on the timing of their arrival.

·         After a successful nomination in this sub-category, the applicant gets a provincial nomination certificate. This sub-category, was opened two times during the present year, and closed within hours after reaching the application threshold.  For applying in this category, the candidates need to first submit a profile in the EE pool.
