Saskatchewan Express Entry calls for 1,000 New Applications

The International Skilled Worker Express Entry sub-category belonging to the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program has opened up to accept another 1,000 applications. This is indeed an opportunity for all eligible candidates figuring in the Express Entry immigration pool of the government of Canada to submit their application for obtaining a provincial nomination without worrying about a job offer.

 When an application asking for a provincial nomination in the SINP Skilled Worker Express Entry sub-category, is successful, the principle of time-related arrivals comes into action. It gives 600 Ranking points and also an ITA for PR to be issued in a later draw from the pool. Previously this sub-category was effective in July 2017, when the intake of new applications totaling to 600 was filled up quickly.

Eligibility Requirements

To gain the eligibility for the International Skilled Worker – Saskatchewan Express Entry sub-category, applicants must:

  • Show proof of legal status, when they are presently living in Canada;
  • Compulsorily have an Express Entry Profile Number and Code of Job Seeker Validation;
  • Score 60 points out of 100 on the point grid.
  • Show language test results from a testing agency designated  by the government that equals the language level stated in profile in the Express Entry;
  • complete one year of post-secondary education/training comparable to the Canadian method of education resulting in a degree /diploma/ certificate;
  • Have a level of work experience comparable to their field of education/training and it must be done in a highly skilled occupation mentioned in NOC 0, A, or B which is in high demand in Saskatchewan,
  • Have One year experience of work in the last 10 years in a skilled profession in the field of education or training occupation or Two years of work in a skilled trade in the last five years or 12 months experience of work in the country during the last three years.
  • Get an evidence of the eligibility norms valid for Saskatchewan licensure if the job  is regulated in the province and needs compulsory certification/licensing; and
  • Have sufficient funds and a plan of settlement.

The Intake period in this sub-category is short and is filled up in a few days itself. Hence preparing in advance and following PNP updates regularly is of greatest importance for success.
