Ontario Secures Top Place in Canada for Employment Growth in August 2019
Canadian Employment rose significantly in August 2019 mainly as a result of increases in part-time work, a report from Statistics Canada.

Five provinces in Canada observed employment growth while the rest of the nation held stable, as per the Survey of StatsCan Labour Force, and 3 sectors of the industry benefited from notable increases.

Ontario: Part-time Work in Retail and Wholesale

Ontario provided the bulk of job gains in Canada in the previous month with an addition of 58,000 net new jobs in the month of August, all in part-time work. Ontario Employment was above 250,000 related to August 2018, a year-over-year gain of 3.5%.

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (O.I.N.P) awards several immigration opportunities for skilled immigrant workers. The O.I.N.P has 3 streams that are associated with the Canadian Express Entry system and normally does not need an employment offer from an Ontario employer to be eligible.

Manitoba: Scientific, Professional, and Technical Services

The number of individuals employed in the province of Manitoba grew by 5,200 in August 2019, which Statistics Canada told the province’s initial notable development of 2019. The province’s scientific, professional, and technical services sector witnessed the most increases from last month with an addition of 5.5% over July, and up 8.5% related to August 2018. Manitoba's Unemployment was relatively constant at 5.6%.

The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (M.P.N.P) provides several pathways to the province for qualified immigration applicants. International workers with in-demand work experience and family links to Manitoba may be suitable for the MPNP’s Stream of Skilled Workers Overseas, which also has a sub-stream for those applicants with a profile in the pool of Express Entry system.

New Brunswick: Culture, Information, and Recreation

New Brunswick has added 2,300 individuals working related to July 2019. The rate of unemployment stayed at approximately 8.6%. The culture, information, and recreation industry increased 9% in one month, and 22% over the past 12 months.

There are many ways to immigrate to the province of New Brunswick by the New Brunswick PNP. As of July 2019, those applicants with a profile in the Canadian Express Entry pool may be asked to apply for a New Brunswick provincial nomination without having to initial expression of interest to the New Brunswick PNP.
