Ontario PNP: Issues 242 Invitations to Express Entry Candidates
Ontario announced its initial Express Entry-linked invitations of the New Year on 03 Jan, issuing 242 invitations to candidates to apply for an Ontario provincial nomination for Canada PR by its Stream of French Speaking Skilled Worker.

This stream is one of the 3 Ontario immigration pathways that are associated with the Canadian Express Entry system, which is Canada’s principal source for skilled immigrant workers.

Express Entry controls the pool of qualified candidates for Canada’s 3 federal skilled immigration classes

  • Federal Skilled Worker Class
  • Canadian Experience Class
  • Federal Skilled Trades Class

Applicants in the Federal Express Entry pool are given a rank based on the score secured beneath the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), which analyzes several factors such as age, educational level, skilled work experience and knowledge in the English or French.

The Canadian Government invites a fixed number of the top-scoring candidates to apply for Canada PR by regular draws from the pool of Express Entry.

Nomination from the province results in an extra 600 CRS points, increasing the recipient’s score above the standard score limit for Express Entry draws and finally guaranteeing an ITA for Canada PR.

Ontario's French Speaking Skilled Worker Category

This specific stream enables the Ontario’s immigrant nominee program, to explore the Federal Express Entry pool for applicants who match the stream’s eligibility Criteria.

Along with other requirements, candidates need to be able to understand, write, read, and speak the French language at a Canadian Language Benchmark (C.L.B) level 7 or above. They also need to be able to understand, write, read, and speak the English language at CLB level 6 or above.

The O.I.N.P announced that the 242 Express Entry applicants who were allotted a Notification of Interest (NOI) in the 9 January draw also had CRS scores varying from 433 to 472 points.

The high point of this score limit is one point lesser than the minimum score of 473 points in the most recent Express Entry draw that held on January 8.

To be counted for an Ontario provincial nomination by Ontario province’s Stream of French Speaking Skilled Worker, the initial step is to find out if you are suitable for the pool of Express Entry.
