Now It Becomes Easy for Students of Morocco & Senegal to Move to Canada

Students from Morocco and Senegal who want to study in Canada will soon have a way to a fast-track processing study permit program.

The Student Direct Stream (SDS) enables qualified students to appeal for a study permit online. The time for processing for most SDS appeals is 20 days, though some may take more.

On 9 Sept 2019, students from Morocco and Senegal will be added to the list of qualified nations that can appeal through the SDS. This list also comprises China, India, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Pakistan.

Developing the SDS to Morocco and Senegal supports the federal government’s French-speaking Immigration Strategy, which is intended to inspire young French speakers to move to Canada and to study in Canada. It also helps the International Education Strategy for 2019 to 2024 in bringing students from a more diverse variety of nations.

Canada’s diverse and welcoming society, high standard educational institutes and possibilities to work or immigrate after completing graduation have made Canada a principal destination option for students around the globe, Ahmed Hussen, Canadian Refugees, Immigration, and Citizenship Minister, announced in a statement.

In developing the Student Direct Stream to a further diverse variety of planned students, Canada enhancing the greater social, cultural, and economic advantages that foreign students provide.

The SDS was started in 2018, in the corresponding year where approximately 54,000 former students transformed into permanent residents of Canada.
