Nova Scotia's Express Entry Stream Invites more Applications

The government of Nova Scotia has announced its plan, to invite 300 more applications, in the Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry Immigration Stream, from October 11th. These applications are required to be placed in Category B, wherein a job offer is not compulsory, but all candidates in the Express Entry must possess work experience in the eligible occupation.

They can apply for a provincial nomination, through the Nova Scotia Nominee Program. It is presently aligned with the enhanced Express Entry- stream, which can add 600 additional CRS points to the successful applicants. They also receive an ITA, which in turn leads to an application for PR in future draws in the pool.

Category B of Express Entry of Nova Scotia is extremely popular and is known for its short and quick intakes. The candidates interested in applying, need to be well prepared. They must also review eligibility norms, in all areas and ensure that all documentation is in place, and is duly complete and up-to-date. This stream is likely to be reopened again in the future, to provide relief to the aspiring applicants, who prepare well in advance.
 
This Express Entry stream has been designed, to work and benefit, early arriving applicants. All Eligible Express Entry candidates with the required work experience in the following occupations can send their applications.

Eligibility requirements

Such candidates must possess:


  • At least one year full-time skilled or equal part-time work experience (during the previous six years) in an opportunity occupation considered by Nova Scotia,
  • Their foreign education credentials assessed;
  • Have language proficiency in English/French as per Canadian Language Benchmark 7, which is acceptable to the governments of Canada
  • Obtain 67 points on the Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry points grid, which is based on age, language proficiency, work experience, adaptability, and education, 
  • Have a valid profile in the Express Entry pool.

Category A is also open now but has no occupations list in it. The only requirement is to have a valid job offer. 

A valid job offer is classified as one:


  • made by an employer in Nova Scotia;
  • lasting for continuous, paid, full-time work; and
  • it must be for work that can be done for one year after PR visa is issued, and must not be seasonal in nature. 
  • The other criteria as listed above for eligibility requirements hold good for Category A also. Applicants need to have 67 points on point- grid and have sufficient educational levels and language abilities.

Nova Scotia has several occupations on the list and plans to accommodate diverse candidates.  They are required to be smart, active and well prepared. The province has issued an advanced notice regarding opening the category and has provided time for eligible candidates, to be prepared for future assignments. They can submit an application now for the speedy process, without wasting time, or think of waiting for a second opportunity.
