Nova Scotia PNP
Immigration applicants with work experience as registered nurses or psychiatric nurses were the aim of a new Nova Scotia's Labour Market Priorities draw took place on October 28.

All those who received invitations had a profile in the Federal Express Entry system, which controls the pool of competitors for Canada’s 3 Federal High-Skilled economic immigration classes

  • Federal Skilled Trades Class
  • Federal Skilled Worker Class
  • Canadian Experience Class

Nova Scotia's Labour Market Priorities Stream

The Nova Scotia's Labour Market Priorities Stream enables Nova Scotia to explore the Express Entry pool for aspirants with work experience in professions that facing labor shortages in the NS province and invite them to appeal for a nomination from the NS province for Canadian PR.

A nomination from the province results in an extra 600 points toward an Express Entry applicant's CRS ranking score and secures an invitation to apply for Canada PR from the Canadian Government.

This was Nova Scotia province’s 5th draw by the Labour Market Priorities Stream in 2019. Prior draws have focused on carpenters, financial auditors and accountants, early childhood educators, and French-speaking applicants of Express Entry.

Nursing applicants invited by Nova Scotia PNP in the 28 October draw have to satisfy the below criteria in order to be counted for a provincial nomination:

  • Have a primary profession of a registered nurse or psychiatric nurse (NOC 3012);
  • Have 3 years or higher work experience as a registered nurse or psychiatric nurse assisted with reference letters from employers;
  • Have a CLB score of 8 or greater in English language or French language in all four language skills;
  • Have a profile in Express Entry that was presented on or after 1 November 2018.

The invited applicants from NSNP have 30 days from their invitation date to provide a comprehensive application.

The Nova Scotia PNP allows Nova Scotia to choose a fixed number of immigration applicants for Canada PR each year by nine streams tailored to particular economic demands in the province.
