Nova Scotia Announces the Details of its Express Entry System

Nova Scotia Reveals the Details of Express Entry System
Nova Scotia, a province of Canada has publicized complete details about its Express Entry immigration system, which substitutes the former Regional Labour Market Demand category. The new immigration program is within the scope of the Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP), which permits Canadian provinces to choose potential immigrants based on the needs of the labor market. 

Allegedly, NSNP will nominate individuals based on their capability to address the needs of provincial labor market and who wish to establish in Nova Scotia. Nominees with their spouses or common-law partners and minor dependent children accepted under the program will be able to become Canadian permanent residents followed by the approval of Canadian government. 

The Nova Scotia's Express Entry system is strongly associated with the Citizenship and Immigration Canada’s Express Entry system, which came into force at 12 p.m. Eastern Time today.

Also, the stream is offering extra 350 nominations, which marks an increase of 700 in total quota of provincial nominations. Prospective applicants must be highly qualified and must have post-secondary education and qualifications that assist them to successfully settle in the province. In addition to this, applicants must also have interest to stay in the province. 

Apparently, the potential aspirants will be evaluated based on a points based system that assess various factors such as qualification, work experience, age, language and adaptability and candidate must be offered a job from an employer. 

Also, potential aspirants must also have minimum one year of full time or equivalent part time work experience within the past five years in any 29 skilled eligible professions that are most in demand.   

The program comprises of two categories: category 1 necessitates aspirants to have an arranged job offer from a Nova Scotia employer supported by a positive Labour Market Impact Assessment. Category 2 requires candidates to have minimum one year of continuous full-time or an equivalent part-time work experience within five years in any eligible occupations. 

Reportedly, there are two application paths to Nova Scotia’s Express Entry program. Potential applicants can file an application to NSOI (Nova Scotia Office of Immigration) or must have been chosen from the Express Entry pool by the NSOI. In both the cases, the principal applicants must file their complete applications to NSOI.
