New-Zealand's Growth Fuelled by Migrant Work Force

New Zealand's society

New Zealand's society is taking a new shape and so is its workforce with changing immigration policies. Kiwis who leave the country forever to settle elsewhere and those who dies are now being replaced with foreigners. Immigration consultants to New Zealand ensure that this gap is filled on an on-going basis.
In the period between 1964-2013, more than 942,300 Kiwis have left the country for good, while on the other side of the equation, more than 1,101,600 migrations to New Zealand was recorded. Richard Bedford, who handles population geography said that the rise in deaths and fall in births along with the rising number of migrations was changing the societal face of NZ since long. He said that the impact is distributed across; while most of these changes can be noticed in Auckland, since Kiwis left, citizens from other countries mainly migrate in and out of Auckland. The latest census data released early this year also shows a rise in the population by 214,000 since 2006.
However, Professor Richard Bedford confirmed that the rise in population is mainly due to natural increase rather than the increase in the net migration to New Zealand. The census period was from 2006 April – 2013 March and during this period the net migration was below 51,000, while the natural increase in the Kiwi population was substantially higher than that. The average number of deaths annually is recorded at 30,000, while the number of births in New Zealand is about 60,000.
People, who come to New Zealand via skilled migrant visa, student visa, residence visa etc., eventually can replace the citizens who either leave NZ or die. With the rising economic growth, a strong migrant workforce is essential to keep the steady pace as NZ lacks specialized workers for the many number of projects taking place in the country. The process of replacing NZ citizens with foreign migrants is called “churning”, and the age category of people who moves in from abroad belongs to 20-40, according to Professor Bedford.
Statistics shows that there was a net increase of over 81,100 migrant workforces between 2008-2012. Last year, out of over 583,300 migrant workers who are not New Zealand born, about 331,600 had been living in NZ for 10 years or more.
This calls for a revolution among employers in promoting multi-cultural work environment and necessary steps must be taken to ensure that the experience and qualifications of outside-workers match the specified role to which they applied for. Candidates applying to New Zealand from abroad via a good Immigration New Zealand Consultant must also ensure that the documents submitted are true and not hyped with an intention to reach the destination.
