Minimum-Scores-in-Latest-draws-Reduced-in-British-Columbia
British Columbia, a happening Canadian province issued 340 invitations to apply for a provincial nomination in the initial draws of 2018, held on January 3rd and 10th. Being tech-focused was the feature of these draws. The Number of invitations extended increased and the cut-off score saw a decline in four out of the five categories.

The Provincial Nominee Program of British Columbia issues invitations to international graduates and skilled workers through various categories.

The draw held on January 10th exclusively invited candidates through the Tech Pilot initiative of the BC PNP. No details, of the number of ITAs, issued in the tech-specific draw have been provided.

The cut-off scores observed in this draw are as under:

  • Skilled Worker in Skills Immigration —: 75
  • International Graduate in Skills Immigration —: 70
  • Semi-Skilled in Skills Immigration —: 40
  • Skilled Worker in Express Entry BC —: 75
  • International Graduate in Express Entry of BC —: 70

Some candidates in the draw held on January 3rd were invited by using a sub-category of Express Entry-aligned PNP. Such candidates can now apply for an enhanced provincial nomination. All successful nominees receive 600 extra points in the CRS and also an Invitation to Apply at a consequent draw from the federal pool. An invitation to submit an application for the BC PNP is dissimilar to the ITA issued at the federal Express Entry level.

The remaining candidates figuring in the sub-categories of Skilled Immigration will see their PR applications processed outside Express Entry when they get a nomination from BC.

All Individuals who are interested in migrating to Canada, after meeting the eligibility criteria for a BC PNP category require the creation of an online profile and must also complete the sections provided in the PNP registration form. Through this, the Applicants get a score which is based on the data provided and enter a selection pool meant for the immigration category selected by them.

The requirement for candidates to be considered in the BC PNP is having an indeterminate, job offer for full-time from an employer based in the province, who is agreeable to supporting them in the process of application.

The Program holds draws periodically from the pool and seeks applications for provincial nominations based on the highest-score among the candidates for each category.

In 2017 British Columbia had an allocation of 6,000 nominations. The allocation targets for 2018 have not been announced by the province.
