EMAIL  Print A+
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program has issued 592 new Letters of Advice to candidates to apply seeking a provincial nomination in the draw held on June 21st.

Out of these, 114 went to candidates in the Manitoba's Express Entry sub-stream. These candidates, succeeding in getting a provincial nomination receive an extra 600 points in their total CRS score.

It was the fifth time during 2018 that the Program has issued invitations using its sub-stream having a link to Express Entry. The candidate with the lowest-rank receiving the invitation in this draw had a score of 562.

213 candidates received Letters of Advice to Apply in the Manitoba Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream.  The candidate with the lowest-rank receiving the invitation in this draw had a score of 522.

150 candidates received LAAs in the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream possessed:

• a close relative living in Manitoba or had a past education/work experience in Manitoba.
• 6 months of recent experience in an occupation listed on In-Demand Occupations list of Manitoba; and
• A minimum language proficiency of CLB/NCLC 5 unless the work experience was in a regulated occupation (minimum CLB/ NCLC 7) or in a compulsory trade (CLB/NCLC 6).

115 candidates received LAAs under the Strategic Recruitment Initiative of the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream.

This Initiative has a recruitment mission, where representatives from the province conduct an interview with the overseas skilled workers and issue LAAs to individuals later after they meet the eligibility criteria of Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) . The individuals need to submit a formal Expression of Interest to the MPNP to get a consideration. Additionally, the Program invites people who undertake a pre-approved Exploratory Visit. They also need to pass in an interview held by a program official.

The Program holds periodic draws in the Expression of Interest system, where potential candidates submit an EOI to the province. Their profiles get a score based on the replies in the MPNP's online system. The candidates securing the highest-score from the EOI pool get a Letter of Advice to apply seeking the provincial nomination from the Manitoba Government.

Skilled workers in Manitoba and overseas who receive a LAA in the June 21 draw and who succeed in provincial nomination can apply to the federal government later to get the Canadian PR status.

The first step to immigrate to Manitoba using the MPNP is by submitting an EOI.

MPNP Skilled Workers Overseas

This is the MPNP sub-category specially for qualified skilled workers who reside outside Canada but who can show a strong connection to the province or its labor market. It uses a system based on points for assessing the candidates as per their language proficiency, age, work experience, adaptability and education factors.
