Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program
Manitoba province is to invest $3.1 million for settlement services of current immigrants, the government of the province has declared.

A project supported solely by funds created by the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program will see integration and settlement hubs built in Winnipeg and rural areas, more support for immigrants with specific needs and funding for entrance and community associations.

Funding will be granted to organizations of 17 provinces, raised by the M.P.N.P’s new application fee $500 for skilled worker and the current application fee $2,500 for business streams.

Our strategic investments will enhance the language, settlement, employment, and community cooperation to immigrants that require as soon as they land in Manitoba to set them on a success path, told Manitobian Minister Education and Training, Kelvin Goertzen.

Manitoba province remains to grow mainly because of immigration and see the multiple ways immigrants benefit our communities, culture, and economy.

The M.P.N.P is the oldest nomination program of the province, launched in 1998. This program completed 20 years in 2018, announcing a record 5,207 nominations over 04 main streams.

Manitoba Provincial Streams:

  • Skilled Worker Overseas Stream
  • Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream
  • Business Investor Stream
  • International Education Stream

The province has a national government nomination allotment of 6,000 for 2019, along with 250 spaces, especially for semi-skilled workers. Manitoba relies massively on its provincial program to maintain its yearly immigration intake.

Figures reveal the province got just 6% of its yearly intake from the Express Entry system in the year 2018, the weakest of any Canadian province. Manitoba welcomed only 960 Permanent Residents by Express Entry system in the year 2018, upon a whole immigrant intake of 15,220.

Integration is observed as a significant part of the central government’s immigration strategy. Canada newly started offering pre-arrival services to the latest immigrants.

IRCC is spending $113 million on different paths to support immigrants prior to they arrive in Canada. Quickly integrating immigrants enables them to better contribute to the economic growth of Canada. In-person services will be given in India, China, and the Philippines, along with an in-person Francophone services pilot project in Morocco.
