EMAIL  Print A+
Results of SkillSelect for the 11 September round have been declared, as described below, while discussions are being held concerning potential openings for regional migration.

Recent SkillSelect Invitation Round

For non-pro rata professions, the needed score for a Skilled Independent subclass 189 visa an invitation continues at 70 points with the appropriate waiting times rising slightly to approximately 12 weeks. We assume the needed score to continue the same in the subsequent invitation round.

Most pro rata professions continue the same. However, the professional group for Electronics Engineer needed 70 points in the final round, down from 75 points, with a notably longer waiting time of 10 months.

2490 invitations were announced for the subclass 189 visa in the September round, as well the same in the month of August. Furthermore, the equal number of invitations 10 was allotted to the Skilled Regional Provisional subclass 489 visa in relating to earlier months.

Encouraging Regional Migration

Recently, the Government of Australia advised they may think of giving regional skilled migration preference, moreover indicating that important metropolitan cities such as Sydney and Melbourne are fighting to control the obstruction of its increasing populations.

The Consequence of the Results

The results in the current SkillSelect round are good for many Electronics Engineers. For all other professions, decisions were in line with expectations, and we expect the essential points for a subclass189 invitation to continue the same non-pro rata professions in the next round.

Following current announcements delivered by the Government of Australia both at Federal and State level, there seem to be some excellent opportunities being generated in areas not restricted to Western Australia and South Australia.
