The technology company Intel, which employs thousands of foreign workers at its US-based offices has called for changes to current US visa laws to make it easier for them to hire the skilled workers they need.

Jason Bagley from the company has said that they need access to the very best worldwide workers and that current caps on immigration are making it hard for them to get the workers they need. He points out that it doesn't allow them the opportunity to innovate and build their business. However US companies do have that ability.

Intel would like to see a change which will allow more permanent workers get green card status and H-1B status visas. It is pointed out that there are not enough homegrown skilled workers in the technology field for the company to source the required skillset.

Bagley also says that changes to visa laws would offer those who move to the US to have more mobility with their jobs – at the moment those on temporary visas are restricted in moving jobs.
