Infosys in talks with US government over Visas

India's second largest software company Infosys has been under US scrutiny regarding their compliance with visa rules and is in the process of coming to a settlement with the US government which could cost them $35 million in legal costs.

A statement from the company has indicated that they are actively engaged in discussions with the US Attorney's office into their compliance with Form 1-9 and the use of B-1 visas. It seems that there had been errors in a significant number of these US visa forms which were used to identify the number of employees allowed to work in the US.
 
The US government is under pressure to change the rules which restrict the numbers of overseas workers able to work within one company. Companies such as Infosys have complained that they cannot find suitable employees within the US to fit their needs.
