Indian Women in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a region within the country of China that is a special administrative region of the peoples republic of china, there are only two of these regions Macau being the second.

Hong Kong is also known by its initial H.K is located on the south coast of China, the pearl river delta and south china sea are around the island. Hong Kong is well known for its fantastic skyline, its amazing deep natural harbour. It also has a population of around seven million. Considering that Hong Kong is a fairly small island its population is big,and so it is one of the most densely populated areas in the world.  Many people on the island are Chinese. The language spoken in Hong Kong is mainly Cantonese.

Many Indian people relocate to Hong Kong, over the years Hong Kong have seen more and more citizens from India enter the shores go Hong Kong. Many women as well as men have entered for many many years and are very welcome in the county. In 1957 the Hong Kong Indian Women's Club (HK IWC) was established. The club was a non profitable charitable organisation. The club was also a forum for many women not just Indian who are like minded, they get together and exchange their cultural ideas. It is a great way to socialize with other women and learn and share with them in Hong Kong.

The Hong Kong Indian Women's Club do a lot of social work and public work within the community which benefits both the Indian country and local community in Hong Kong. They also support financial and emotional the underprivileged Indian women and children, they help to improve their way of life and the conditions they are living in. educational aid is provided by the organisation, better health care facilities are also down to The Hong Kong Indian Women's Club. If it was not for the HKIWC many would not revive the care  that they do. The club also raises funds which enables them to carry on their excellent work in the community, and holds around ten executive committee meetings a year. The committee has fifteen women who each serve a term of one year. They enter on the committee after a vote has been held. There is roughly around one hundred and seventy five members in the The Hong Kong Indian Women's Club, all of which do amazing work for the community and the migrants who enter the shores of Hong Kong.
