India and Australia Works Collaboratively to Provide Vocational Training
Australia and India held talks with each other to work collaboratively with regards to offering job opportunities and vocational training in various streams, Sanchayan Bhattacharjee report unveils.

Modi during his trip worked hard to represent India as a manpower and manufacturing hub. The basic theme behind this trip is to make use of India’s largest human capital to address the labor shortage in Australia. In order to achieve this, it is required to train Indians and make them certified to grab good opportunities in both the nations. Taking this into confidence, the NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation), India has reached a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with TDA (TAFE Directors Australia) to help both the countries in vocational and technical training and education.

These programs will emphasize on certain streams in which Australia is experiencing lack of skilled professionals such as IT, healthcare, retail, automotive and telecom industry.

The CEO of NSDC, Dilip Chenoy said that the main motto of this agreement is to offer transnational training standards, which ultimately helps them to successfully accomplish their job responsibilities in both the countries.

Additionally, the NSDC is contemplating to work with immigration department of Australia to smoothen the skilled migration from both the countries. TDA will offer syllabus support for vocational training for aforesaid streams and there are planning to set up study trips to nurture skills, said Chenoy.

The officials of NSDC said that the agreement is on par with the government’s plan and is an end result of talks with education officials and Australian government. Eventually, the alliance will make Indians skilled, helping them to find work in various countries that are facing skill shortages like Australia.
