Immigration Plays a Vital Role for Record Population Growth in Nova Scotia
The Canadian Province Nova Scotia is noticing record-breaking population raise thanks to inter provincial migrants and regular immigrants.

Statistics Canada Unveils Details About Population Increase in Nova Scotia

Statistics Canada surveys show that the Canadian Atlantic Provinces population rose by 12,339 residents between 1 Oct 2018, and 1 Oct 2019. This contains 7,165 immigrants who have arrived in Nova Scotia province through this 12-month period.

This growth of 1.28% is the province’s most active population gain over a tenure of 12-months since 1972 and moved the population of  Nova Scotia to a record level of 976,768 as of 1  Oct 2019.

Population gain between 1 Jul 2019 and 1 Oct 2019, also produced a new record for a period of three months. The 3rd quarter of 2019 noticed that the province of Nova Scotia's population grew by 5,373 people, in those immigrants considered for 2,471.

The Provincial Government of Nova Scotia told that this was the significant immigration for a specific quarter based on records from the Second World War.

The number of Inter provincial migrants considered for 1,090 current residents to the Nova Scotia province. The government announced that this is the 16th progressive quarter for positive net inter provincial migration.

The above population numbers represent the positive impact of immigration in the Nova Scotia province, Nova Scotia province’s Minister of Immigration, Lena Metlege Diab, announced in a news release. Immigration is an advantage and is the answer to filling persistent labor requirements and growing the province's population.

The natural growth of the province, which is the variation between the number of deaths and the number of births in the province of Nova Scotia, has been on a declining trend since 2016.

On the opposite, both immigration and inter provincial migration have risen in the corresponding time period,  Statistics Canada data reveals.
