Immigration Minister Says by 2021 Canada Needs 1 Million Immigrants

Canadian Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship minister told the country’s vibrant and robust economy was produced in significant participation of the immigrants that we have greeted throughout our history.

Immigrants and also their descendants have made extensive contributions to Canada, and our ultimate success depends on remaining to assure they are appropriately received and well-integrated, told Ahmed Hussen, Immigration Minister in a yearly report to Parliament.

Canada’s Immigration Plan

Because of this, Ahmed Hussen, who as per the current report from the Australian Broadcasting Corp. (ABC) moved to Canada from war-torn Somalia when he was at the age of 16. Now he has drafted a three-year plan of immigration covering 2019 to 2021 striving to welcome 1.02 million experienced workers with the expertise and skills which suits the economic needs of Canada.

The three years plan comprise of 330,800 was planned for the present year; 341,000 for the next year 2020; and 350,000 in the year 2021.

Also, he added, multi-year immigration levels planning is continuing to the success of Canadian immigration program by allowing Refugees, Immigration, and Citizenship Canada, its federal, provincial & territorial partners, and other important partners such as providers of settlement service, to better plan for proposed permanent resident admissions.

Nearly 1 in 5 present Canadians are immigrants, as per the report, with higher than 6 million arrivals since 1990.

As per the recent, The Filipino Times report by Jose “Ping” Galang a veteran journalist, higher number of Filipinos who move in search of greener pastures have picked Canada as their goal in recent years.

At present, the Philippines is continuously in one of the top three nations of origin of migrants to Canada, and it was secured first place in 2016, as per Canada’s statistics office, he told.

On the other side, Philippine statistics put Canada as the second-best choice as a migration destination, following the USA. This trend is anticipated to remain as more Filipinos viewing for better economic possibilities overseas tend to take a more positive way of Canadian policies and practices on immigration.

As per the Canadian Census in 2016 about 851,410 Filipinos were residing in Canada. In 2017, 2,685 Filipinos migrated to Canada by the Federal Express Entry System.
