The International Skilled Worker – Express Entry sub-category of the Saskatchewan province is inviting 400 new applications.

The SINP announced that it will use the system based on the timing of arrival of the application in this sub-category. It is planned to be kept open until 400 applications are received to meet the target.

It does not need a job offer nor is a connection to the province required. The SINP nominates professionals who exist in the Express Entry Pool of the IRCC and have the required education, work experience, proficiency in a language besides other factors to settle in Saskatchewan successfully.

All the Applicants, receiving the provincial nomination, in this sub-category, get extra 600 CRS points. In 2017, this sub-category was kept open five times and 3,200 applicants benefitted from it. this sub-category is kept open without giving an advanced notice, it is important for the interested candidates to be well prepared and keep their documents ready to apply quickly when the announcement is made.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligibility Requirements for candidates of International Skilled Worker in the Saskatchewan Express Entry sub-category of the SINP include:

  • Having confirmation of legal status, when the candidate currently resides in Canada;

  • Having a Profile Number in the Express Entry and also the Job Seeker Validation Code;

  • Scoring 60 points or above out of 100 on the point grid.

  • Language test results to be provided by a Selected Testing Agency to match the language levels stated in the profile;

  • Completing a year of post-secondary education/training, comparable to the education system in Canada and which results in a certificate/ degree/diploma;

  • Work experience related to the sphere of education/training in a skilled occupation, belonging to NOC 0, A, or B in an in-demand occupation of Saskatchewan (list enclosed below);

  • Having one of the following requirements in the field of education /training occupation:
  1. One year work experience in the last 10 years in a non-trade skilled profession,
  2. Two years work experience in a skilled trade in the last five years; or
  3. Twelve months experience of working in Canada in the last three years (both trades and non-trades).
  • Having proof of eligibility for licensure in Saskatchewan when the profession is regulated in the province and requires compulsory certification/licensing; and
  • Having adequate settlement funds added with a plan of settlement,

SINP In-Demand Occupations List

Presently 35 occupations figure on the In-Demand Occupation List, of Saskatchewan and among them any professional licensure is not needed for 12 to receive a nomination. Please note that there have been some modifications to it in 2017.
