Exit Plan: How Global Countries are Preparing for Life Post COVID-19
Australia

Australia has a road out of its COVID-19 lockdown, long & winding though it may be. Having reminded repeatedly that this response from the Coronavirus pandemic was taking Australia into an uncharted territory, the Australian PM Scott Morrison has declined again on a navigational metaphor after recovery.

It’s an unfair choice for all governments across the globe, weighing lives upon livelihoods. “Every time you loosen a restriction, more individuals will get sick, more individuals will die,” the Gladys Berejiklian, New South Wales premier, has told.

Australian medical response to the Coronavirus pandemic, while not without defects, like the Ruby Princess debacle, has been significantly strong by global standards: just above 6,400 infections occurring in 65 deaths.

New Zealand

New Zealand country has been one of the western countries to pursue a policy of exclusion of Sars-CoV-2, the virus that induces COVID-19. The nation has been victorious in flattening its infections curve– 1,401 Coronavirus cases and only 9 deaths– but the policy has not been without opposition.

A group of 6 scientists, calling themselves for a new Plan B, have requested the Jacinda Ardern, PM to open the nation, claiming a approach of exclusion cannot win and would cause more serious economic &  health consequences than the virus itself.

Germany

Much of Europe has been destroyed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Following the US, by far the most attacked nation, with 667,000 cases, the next four nations by total infection numbers – Italy, France, Spain, and Germany – are all in Europe.

In spite of widespread outbreaks, the latest infection rates are declining, and many nations are either starting to restore their economies or are in the process of preparing for doing so.

Germany’s health system, in spite of higher than 100,000 infections over the nation, has managed with the present surge, and Angela Merkel, chancellor of Germany has slowly welcomed the “fragile moderate success” produced by social distancing rules that had supported “flatten the curve”.
