Denmark Visa Changes
Recent changes have been made in parliament to the visa system. These changes make immigration much easier than it use to be for spouses of Danish citizens and also spouses of immigrants already in Denmark. The application fee that was charged to would be applicants has now been removed. Taking away the financial boundary will automatically make the whole process easier for families to be reunited in Denmark. Families will no longer have to worry about finding the money to apply for a visa for entry into Denmark for a family reunification reason.

The immigration test has now been scrapped but a replacement test has been put in its place and will have to be taken. The new test is on the Danish language ability that an applicant has, it can be taken no later than six months after an individual has entered Denmark. Even though changes to the permit have been made in the favour of the applicant there are still certain criteria that must be met, it is not a walk in the country with no requirements kind of change. Before these changes were made an applicant would have had to have visited Denmark at least two times within a year as well as complete a course on Danish language. This is now not need if the spouse who is already residing in Denmark has held a residency for twenty six years or more, before the changes the time was a minimum of twenty eight years. If the spouse who lives in Denmark was not born there and is not a citizen then there must be a combined connection to Denmark between the two that is greater than any other country in the world.

There are many different things that are taken into account for this, such as how long the spouse who already lives in Denmark has lived in the country for. If either spouse has family in Denmark or other relevant acquaintances in Denmark. If either spouse has a child under the age of eighteen living in Denmark. How well either spouse speak Danish is also taken into account under the changes that have been made. The changes were made so that families do not have to live apart and worry about financial hardship. The fees were dropped so the application would be easier and more people would apply and be reunited with their loved ones, legally in a country that is known for both its diversity and human rights.
