Denmark offers religious freedom
There are many different religions in Denmark today, the country is notoriously diverse and accepting of everyone. Immigration has brought more and more people from all over the world to the country, with they they brought many different attributes, one of which was the religions of the individuals who migrated to Denmark over the years. Christianity was once the only religion in Denmark, for many years this religion reign supreme. The evangelical Lutheran church of Denmark, was the main practice, with the influx of immigrants more religious sects began to form in the country.

Migrants flocked to Denmark in their thousands over the years and now the second biggest religion in the country is the Islamic religion. Religious buildings for each faith have now been erected in Denmark, more and more over the years. All religions are accepted in Denmark. There are protestant churches in the country as well as the catholic religion. At one time many years ago, the mainly protestant country of Denmark made it illegal to be a Roman catholic, but in 1849 the constitution granted the country religious freedom. There are around forty thousand Catholics in Denmark now, although most are migrants who entered the country. There are also several more regions in Denmark that are practising and accepted by the residents of this country.

The Mormon religion has been in Denmark since around 1850 and today the faith continues, although small compared to some there are still over four and a half thousand people who are Mormons in Denmark, they have their own religious building in Denmark where they can worship. Jewish people have lived in Denmark since the seventeenth century. Over 99% of the Jews in Denmark today are there after surviving the holocaust during world war two. The Buddhist faith has been in Denmark since around 1921, travellers of the Indian subcontinent brought Buddhism to Denmark but it was dissolved in 1950, in the 1980 refugees from Vietnam brought Buddhism back to Denmark. There are now around twenty thousand practising Buddhists in the country. There are also some other small religions apparent in Denmark as well as at least five hundred register heathens. Immigrants have always shaped the countries that they travel to, and none so much as the religions that they follow.

No matter what religion an individual practices they all have a temple of worship, be it a church or a synagogue or mosque, and each will shape the country, not just in architecture but in faith.
