Denmark immigration process
Many people are choosing to start a new life in the calm tranquil country of Denmark. It has been voted as one of the happiest countries in the world and so it is easy to see why people want to immigrate there. With so many people choosing this country, Denmark are set to make changes to their Green Card visa, the system that governs immigrants entering the country.

The Denmark Green card is run on a points system, at present an applicant has to gain a minimum of one hundred points to be an acceptable applicant for a green card, there are many areas in which an applicant can gain points, the level of education that they have and where they acquired the education is a high points scorer, age is a factor of points as well as employment, experience and the financial aspect will also be taken into consideration for how many points they will be granted.

The changes that Denmark are intending to make to the system will mean a tighter process. Regulations on the desirability of immigrants will mean criteria will be scrutinised before the points are granted to each individual. Denmark feel this is a way to stop immigration becoming a problem on the country but it has been met with some resentment. Any spouse of a Danish citizen who wishes to join their husband or wife in the country will have to go through the points system and also meet other criteria set out, as well as paying a higher fee.

The spouse will need to gain the required points in education, work experience and language. This is to try and curb immigration but many are feeling this new tighter system will be very unfair and families will suffer in these changes. Denmark already have one of the toughest attitudes towards immigration in the world. And with the suggested changes they will be much more withstanding. Spouses are being put under much more pressure in the points system and the scoring ability, in the suggested changes a spouse who wishes to live in Denmark and is aged twenty four or under will have to gain 120 point in the system. The points will still need to be gained in education, language and work experience or qualification in a skilled job. A job must have also have been held for a minimum of two and a half years continuously out of the three years.
