Danish migrants need enticing into the country

Danish migrants
Danish businesses have recently challenged  the government on the immigration rules that they have set in place. The rules that are currently in place are making it extremely difficult to hire and keep staff who are highly educated but come from a foreign country.

Eighteen of the biggest international companies and members of the CGT  who have a base in Denmark are launching a drive, they want a concrete perspective that is long sighted, up to now they are not seeing this and do not see a time that they will be seeing this for the employees that they have working for them who are not from Denmark, this way their businesses benefit instead of suffering.

The Danish government continue to state that they want the most ambitious, highly talented highly skilled individuals from all over the world to enter Denmark and work in their country. However nothing has been done to make the whole immigration system simpler for  these people, and therefore benefiting the companies that they work for. With a limited amount of time available on certain visas, the immigration system must change to accommodate the workforce.

Siemens is a member of the CGT (Consortium for Global Talent) with a base in Denmark, they currently have around seven thousand employees working for them, ten percent of their workforce is foreign, that is around seven hundred people. They predict that this number will only grow over the years. However, losing seven thousand employees due to immigration laws is bad for business. Many people that enter Denmark do work, they do not enter and just claim benefits as some may believe. They work legally and pay in taxes  that in turn actually benefit the country and the economy, they are a value to both the companies that they work for and the country.

It is becoming more and more apparent that many of the migrant workforce in Denmark face an uphill battle with the immigration service of the country, even though they are in the country legally, working legally, paying taxes and great assets to the economy. The battle is still there to be able to stay and work in the country. If employees are nervous about the immigration service it has an adverse affect on the company they work for, a sense of security counts for a lot. Without this migrants do worry even if they have found a job via the correct channels and obtained the correct clearance from the authorities.
