Over the weekend the government of Western Australia killed its first shark which has made conversationists and activists very angry.

Conversationists angry in Australia
A fisherman caught a three meter long tiger shark and shot it about one kilometre away from the Old Dunborough which is in the South West region stated a spokesman.

There have been very fatal shark attacks in near Australia's largest state as the government is using hooked lines to floating drums to cull the sharks in the water.

Over the past three years seven people have been killed in shark attacks in Western Australia.

Many conversationists are against this program as they feel that sharks should always remain as a species that must be protected.

The culling program was given a go ahead after the environment minister Greg Hunt exempted Western Australia and gave them permission to kill sharks under the Biodiversity Conservation and Environment Protection act.

This exemption gives Western Australia the permission to kill great white sharks which are the lustiest marine predators in the world.

Rae Threnoworth who is a Sea shepherd spokeswoman told CNN that it was a tragedy to even think about this shark being in the water for around 12 hours with a big hook which is making its mouth bleed and making it suffer so much.
