Changes to US Immigration

The United States President, Barack Obama has made a joint agreement with the Former Republican Vice President, Paul Ryan to make many changes within the US Immigration Authorities to crack down on the amount of illegal migrants in the country, which is now reported to be at an all time high of 11.5 million.

There is set to be a significant reform bill which is to be over 13,000 pages long to make alterations of every angle that illegal migrants are taking to illegally enter the United States. There is to be an increase of over $4.5 billion spent on border security, within this figure there is to be more security staff at US borders who will enhance security checks more thoroughly, their heavy presence alone will look extremely intimidating and their jobs will be undertaken with as much passion and dedication as with all US security positions.

Life is set to take on a huge change for the illegal migrants of the United States, with the ambition to be that life will be made so difficult and uncomfortable in the country for these persons that they will opt for ‘self deportation’ which means making their own way back to their homelands as the more desirable option. By law employers within the US from recognised, registered and genuine companies will now have to scrutinise any prospective employees from foreign born countries through an E-Verify system before being able to employ them, this will cut down on the amount of migrants who are working illegally whilst being shielded by employers by making the responsibility to adhere to US law a joint one.

As well as putting many restrictions and tighter controls in place other changes will make the visa process much easier for those migrants considered to be desirable and thought to contribute to the US economy. Migrant Students in the US along with native Students are to be the next generation to contribute and engineer the way American businesses and companies are ran and so they are highly beneficial to society and will be treated accordingly.

Migrant students, especially those who receive PH Ds from recognised US education establishments will soon find the process of applying for and receiving a Green Card - which is the US Permanent Residency Visa, a much smoother and elementary process during the whole new shake up of Immigration into the United States.
