Online Immigration Applications via Mon Projet Quebec
The Ministry of Immigration, Diversity and Inclusion (MIDI) Quebec, Canada has communicated changes to rules for applicants submitting their applications online for the Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de selection du Quebec, or CSQ).  Applicants submitted through the online intake management system Mon Projet Quebec can now change or update their details in parts of their online application.

The ability to update an applicant’s profile once it has been submitted is limited to: changing contact information, adding/removing spouse or dependent child due to change of personal situation, adding diplomas and qualifications, adding language proficiency via test results in French or English and updating or adding information about any family members who live in Quebec.

Mon Projet Quebec is an online application management system launched in January 2016 to manage applications for the Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP). Under the QSWP successful applicants receive a Quebec Selection Certificate (Certificat de selection du Quebec, or CSQ) and can then go on to apply for permanent residency in Canada. Candidates can now use Mon Projet Quebec to make their changes, make payments, follow their application status and use the messaging system with immigration as their application progresses.

The Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) is used to gain skilled immigrants to the province, which plans to accept up to 5,000 new applicants before March 2018. The QSWP is a separate system to the Federal Skilled Worker Class. The government of Canada will issue residency in Canada as a whole to successful QSWP candidates.

Eligibility criteria for the QSWP, where points are awarded for each aspect, include education, training, work experience, age, language proficiency, family already in Quebec, spouse, children and settlement funds. A single unmarried applicant must score at least 50 points and an applicant with a spouse or common-law partner must score at least 59 points. Medical and security examinations/police checks will also be required. QSWP candidates are not assessed under the Federal Skilled Worker Class criteria and as such have an opportunity to gain residency without being eligible for the Federal Skilled Worker Class.

Quebec has a number of open immigration streams for workers, graduates and business people who wish to immigrate to the French-Canadian province.
