Canadian health care

Migrating to Canada has become increasingly popular for thousands of people every year. They choose this county as their ideal location to set up new life's, business or to continue education. Canada is renown for it's outstanding education prospects, substantial economy and the free health care system. All citizens and permanent residents can use the system which funded by the public, if they require the attention of a doctor whether it be for a routine check or a more serious health concern, they are all entitled to visit a medical professional free of charge. If needed, a citizen or resident can undergo surgery or be given treatment for an illness without worrying if he or she can afford it. Medical costs for Canadians is paid in via income taxes. According to a statement from 2012 the average family living in Canada pays around $11,400 towards health care insurance through their taxes. The increasing  cost related to the health care system is reported to be rising quicker than essentials like housing costs, clothing and even food products. Due to the high amount each family pays towards funding the system, many people do not class it as being a free.
Each of the provinces and territories has its own individual layout of what may or may not be included by the system. Sum of the provinces one of which being British Columbia has a scheme through the government which offers support for prescription drugs, the support depends entirely upon the patients income.
Even though Canada is a multicultural country many of the immigrants actually meet with difficulties when attending departments within the health care system. A shortage of interpreters cause problems such as complications understanding languages. Another complication which immigrants have been faced with is lack of cultural knowledge, this can cause a recommendation of medication or surgery to be suggested which can be insensitive towards an immigrants practices, beliefs and religious traditions.
Shortages in some services within the health care program can cause severe obstacles and dilemmas, in situations where medical knowledge and treatment is a necessity but unfortunately unavailable. The shortage of admissions in areas of the health care system such as mental health department can be problematic, especially for immigrants that could have been mentally traumatised in the country the originate from. It is believed that areas needing more funding or attention include the departments for serious and prolonged issues like mental health.
