Canadian Foreign Born Population
The percentage of the foreign born people residing in Canada is increasing, according to the report of the Globe and Mail.

Canada has attained the highest position as regards to the foreign born population amongst the G8 countries with over 2.1 million immigrants during the previous decade.

The resident population in Canada, who are foreign born, is 6.8 million and this  represents 20.6 % of the total population, in comparison to 19.8 percent in 2006.

Most of the immigrants were from Asia and Middle East particularly from the Philippines and China.

The survey has revealed that over six in 10 immigrants, who came during 2006 and 2011, have established themselves in one of the three major metro regions.

In the previous five years, Ontario represented 43 percent of the newcomers, while British Columbia accounted for 16 percent.
