Canadian Economy Adds 81,000 Jobs in August 2019
The Canadian economy has added 81,100 jobs in August 2019, combining the rate of unemployment at 5.7%. The nation has now attached 471,000 Canada jobs in the previous year, an increment of 2.5%.

Quebec was the best performer on the Canadian provincial front, with its rate of unemployment falling to 4.7%. The French-speaking province presently has the lowest rate of unemployment of all Canadian provinces, has crossed British Columbia which was in the top spot previously.

Demographically, employment with young people who are aged between 15 to 24 years witnessed the most visible rise in August 2019, growing by 42,000. Youth employment has increased by 75,000 jobs in the previous year, an increase of 3%.

There were also gains in the employment for the 55 and above age bracket, which attached 22,000 jobs in August 2019 for a 12-month consolidated growth of 195,000, or 4.9%.

Meantime, the population of core-aged 25 to 54-year-olds observed little change in August, with the rate of unemployment continuing steady at 4.7%.

Provincial Canada Jobs

Among the Canadian provinces, Quebec and Ontario noticed the most important real-number gains, while Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and New Brunswick all recorded an increase in jobs.

Canada’s biggest province attached 57,800 jobs in August 2019, all in part-time work driven by retail trade and wholesale. Ontario employment has now increased by 250,000, or 3.5% in the previous year, with a rate of unemployment 5.6%.

Quebec noticed an increase for the second following month, this time attaching 19,700 jobs. Its rate of unemployment was 4.7% which is the lowest since comparative data became accessible in 1976. Quebec province has now attached 112,000 jobs in the previous year, an increase of 2.6%.
