Canada offers Express Entry
Canada's Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Chris Alexander, has announced on 8th April, 2014 that the employment model for economic immigration would be officially called as “Express Entry.”  This is set to start in January 2015. “Express Entry” is a key move ahead in the changes of immigration system of Canada’s into the one that is quick, flexible and aimed at fulfilling the labour and the economic needs of Canada.

Express Entry” would allow better flexibility and understanding to deal with the shortages in the regional labour, and provide assistance for filling the available jobs for which Canadian workers are not available. The candidates on “Express Entry” who have been granted a nomination or job offer through the PNP (Provincial Nominee Program) would be invited to file their applications for permanent residency quickly. This is a major difference between “Express Entry” and the program of Temporary Foreign Worker, which is only for the purpose of filling skill shortages and temporary labour.

“Express Entry” was previously known as “Expression of Interest”. This would be open to the immigrants who are skilled and would authorize the government to choose the top candidates who are expected to be successful in Canada. It would also stop pile-up work and would let CIC (Citizenship and Immigration Canada) to improve the coordination of the application volume with the yearly immigration levels plan.

The applicants who are qualified to apply in the 4 major economic streams: Federal Skilled Trades Program, the Federal Skilled Worker Program, a portion of the PNP and Canadian Experience Class can expect that their applications would be processed within a period of 6 months or less.

By means of “Express Entry,” employers would have a major role in making the choice of economic immigrants and offer advice to the Canadian Government. So in order to achieve this specified  goal ,Chris Alexander has also declared that over a period of spring 2014, CIC would work with the  territorial and provincial and governments to maintain a series of cross-Canada information sessions to offer employers with additional information regarding this stimulating new system.
