UK profits from migrants

In a recent public speech the President of Bulgaria, Rosen Plevneliev has spoken of how the UK’s immigration changes, due to hit in the new year, will be a two way street and it will not just be the Bulgarian public who will benefit from the alterations. The decision made by UK Prime Minister, David Cameron, to give unrestricted access to migrants from Bulgaria and Romania is to begin in January 2014 and has sparked many a heated debates in the house of commons, on the streets of Britain and globally and what effects prospective mass migration will have on the island of the UK.

Bulgaria's President hits back at claims that the effects will be negative by claiming that the effect migrants from his country have had on the UK during the past 20 years especially have been entirely productive and beneficial to the economy and he states it as fact that more migrants entering the UK will bring major profits to the country. It was said that the idea launched by the UK government as a humane and fair method to bring opportunities to those who without the project would not be able to migrate was entirely transparent and is being introduced to benefit Britain and Britain alone. Rosen Plevneliev stated that according to the University College London's analysis and statistics published of migration during the past two decades into the United Kingdom revealed that migrants contributed nearly 35% more to the economy than they took out.

The Romanian Ambassador to Britain, Dr Ion Jinga has also spoken out regarding the UK’s immigration changes by saying that he believes far fewer Romanians will take up this supposed wonderful opportunity in today's climate and had the changes been brought in previous to 2015 then many more migrants would have made the move. He defends his people by pointing out that Romania is a country of honest, hard working people, Romanians pay taxes and they contribute to the society and to help build up their own economy will be more in their hearts than helping the UK. He also said that Romanian Migrants who previously went to the UK did so for work and not for benefits. David Cameron has faced much criticism and controversy over the intended immigration changes with the majority of people not being in agreement with it and not seeing it as the selfless act the Prime Minister is maintaining.
