British Columbia sends Invitations to International Graduates and Skilled Workers

Immigration officials of British Columbia held a draw under the Provincial Nominee Program on March 21, 2018, in which

146 candidates were invited to submit an application. The exclusive technology based draw was not included in these numbers.

The requirement of the minimum score by the international graduates and skilled workers in Express Entry was 105, and the score required by the International Graduates and Skilled Worker Streams happened to be 100. Only 60 points were needed for semi-skilled and entry-level workers.

During the previous Provincial draw, 365 candidates were invited using the different streams of the province. This draw was held on 28th February 2018, and the dates of exclusive technology based draws were March 7th and March 14th.

In the category of provincial skilled worker, the minimum score was 77, and for the category of skilled worker, it was 82. Moreover, International graduates needed at least to score 82 for both streams. Semi-skilled and Entry-level workers needed a score of 40.

British Columbia introduced the Tech Pilot in 2017, which was aimed to attract top professional workers in 32 occupations related to technology.

It has conducted specific Provincial draws for technology workers from May 2017.

The provincial nomination guarantees successful selection in the Canada Express Entry System, owing to the grant of 600 CRS points.

This PNP has published the scores, needed by the immigrants, to receive the invitation, for Canadian immigration, through the programs, managed by it.

The required score for global graduates has been placed 30 points lower than needed by skilled workers, in the Express Entry, as well as in the provincial stream.

The score is low for semi-skilled and entry-level workers.
