British Columbia Invites Candidates in Major Technological Occupations

The Provincial Nominee Program of British Columbia has issued 25 new invitations for applying to seek the provincial nomination in its Tech Pilot Draw, held on July 4th.

The candidates meeting the eligibility requirements Tech of the Pilot Draw received the invitations. In recent times the Program has upgraded the tech pilot after revising the technology occupations list in a big way. Moreover it had also modified the job offer requirements in the specific occupations.

As per the recent updates in the pilot, candidates in the 29 occupations presently need a full-time job offer of one year compared to the a permanent indeterminate offer  required in the past.

The province had initiated the Tech Pilot in 2017 for attracting and retaining international graduates and skilled workers of post-secondary institutions in Canada having the appropriate skills to meet the needs of technology sector of the province. It will remain in force till June 2019. Candidates who receive the invitation in streams, having an alignment with the Canada Express Entry like the EEBC - Skilled Worker and EEBC - International Graduate streams, get 600 additional points under the CRS in case their application seeking provincial nomination is approved.

There is a policy to process applications, seeking PR Status by the Skills Immigration candidates, who receive the successful provincial nomination,  outside the EE system.

Persons who have the interest to immigrate to Canada by using the BC Provincial Program need to first submit an online profile in the Skills Immigration Registration System and also complete all sections of the form.

After assessing the profile applicants get a score which is based on factors of education, and also work experience, apart from other factors also.
