BC PNP: Issues 311 Invitations for a Provincial Nomination for Canada PR

British Columbia Immigration held a provincial nominee program draw on 30 March 2020 and issued 311 Invitations to immigration candidates to apply for a British Columbia provincial nomination for Canadian PR.

Complete Details of Latest BC immigration Draw

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee (BC PNP) Program invited immigration candidates below two immigration categories: BC Express Entry and BC Skills Immigration. In order for applicants to be chosen through the Category of BC Express Entry, they need to have a valid and active profile in the pool of federal Express Entry.

Federal Express Entry is the Canadian central pathway for skilled newcomers who aspire to obtain Canadian PR. Federal Express Entry leads skilled worker applications for three of the Canadian principal economic immigration classes: those are

  • Federal Skilled Trades Class;
  • Federal Skilled Worker Class; and
  • Canadian Experience Class.

Aspirants who are qualified for the Federal Express Entry are given a score of Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) that depends on human capital parameters such as candidate's education, skilled relevant work experience, and official language skill in the languages of English or French, and age.

Those aspirants nominated by the BC Express Entry provincial nominee program will be granted a supplementary 600 CRS score points, effectively ensuring them with an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canada PR in a succeeding federal Express Entry draw.

The Category of BC Skills Immigration is for both skilled and semi-skilled workers whose professions are having high demand in the province of British Columbia. Both categories need applicants to enroll using the Skills Immigration Registration (SIRS) System of B.C., which grants eligible applicants with a score that depends on several factors like their offer of a job, location in B.C., level of education, language ability, and wage.

The minimum required scores were within 102 and 105 points in the most recent selection invitation round.
