Australian Government $19 Million Plan to Bring Migrants to Regional Areas

David Coleman, Minister for Immigration, has declared a current $19.4 million plan to attract current migrants to Australian regional area.

Australia Attracting More Migrants to Regional Areas

The funding is fixed to be dispersed to the state governments covering the next four years and will include Immigration Department executives moving to regional areas to support local businesses.

Under Coleman’s suggested plan, there will be a preference for processing the visa applications which are sponsored by organizations from rural areas, along with extra powers given to local councils that will enable them to hire workers from abroad.

The Immigration Minister of Australia has previously directed the department to dispatch official agents to areas such as Arana and Cairns to negotiate migration contracts. Reports have also proved that regional migrants will have their visa canceled if they move from their designated area of work as part of a current series of population control parameters.

The visa will need individuals to work in that specific area. You can’t simply go and work somewhere else, Coleman told.

The Coalition government’s suggested plan has to get approval from the state treasuries, with several voicing concerns that the reforms could give Canberra excellent control over the territories and states.

The Tim Pallas, Victorian Treasurer, mockingly characterized the government as an amateur when it approaches to handling a growing population, due to its’ shortage of infrastructure funding.

As per Pallas, the government of Victoria will be spending $13.9 billion on infrastructure over the state in the current year, whereas the Australian government will provide lower than $ 1 billion.

The Commonwealth requires to back up its concern in the area with a promise to support fund infrastructure in the states, Pallas told.
