reach of Indonesian Territorial Sovereignty

It has recently been acknowledged by the government of Australia, that their navy has been in breach of the sovereignty of the Indonesia's territory during the new policy which has been deemed controversial by many. Australia issues approximately 20,000 refugees with various visas, via different agreements and specific situations. The new policy which was formulated to stop boats, which are loaded with asylum seekers, from entering Australian territory.

An apology has been made from the Australian government to the neighbouring country, the apology was given due to the Australian navy entering the territorial waters of Indonesia on a multitude of occasions, each time no permission had been granted for them to do so. It has been reported that a number of the vessels had previously been redirected, however officials inside Australia have not confirmed this. Members of the public have been outraged by the recent policy change as they feel it is putting the sovereignty could be at risk of violation.
Canberra,  the capital city of Australia, has be accused of refusing to acknowledge the neighbouring country during enforcement of the new policy, it is believed that the only issue the Australian government are concerned about is strengthening its policy regarding asylum seekers. The conservative government of Australia have vowed to diminish the consistent amount of arrivals, which have not been given authorisation, the vessels that are making attempts to gain access to Australia are from various locations of Indonesia.

A vast amount of individuals give money to people smugglers so that they can travel on their small, usually dangerous boats in a bid for safety after escaping insufferable situations, many of the people seeking asylum are from Syria, Afghanistan, somalia, Darfur and Pakistan. It has been suggested that the policy, which aims to remove attempts of entry, is not going to be successful as it has already made numerous blunders which have caused embarrassment to Australia's government  and repeatedly breached Indonesian sovereignty. Australia may face further problems after the U.N Refugee Agency have suggested  that further laws were being broken, forcing the boats to backtrack their journey towards Indonesia without initially checking the structure and stability of the boat, could endanger the passengers, this is a breach of international laws.

Australia is open and welcoming to migrants who choose to relocate there, as long as it is done in the correct manner. Stopping the arrival of asylum seekers is going to be a complex process but one that the government is determined to make successful.
