US-Green-Cards-Introduced-in-the-House-of-Representatives
The Trump administration supports it, and the legislation is named 'Securing America's Future Act’. It is aimed to end the program for diversity visa and decrease the immigration levels, (which at present are 1.05 million) to 2, 60,000 per year. It was introduced by Martha McSally, Chairwoman, besides Michael McCaul, Bob Goodlatte, and Raul Labrador.

It demands an increase of the annual allocation of green cards from the present 1, 20,000 to 175,000. Indo-American professionals in the technology arena, who visit the US chiefly on H-1B visas and prefer green cards, are likely to benefit from this Act. It is estimated that there are 5, 00,000 Indians who eagerly await green cards. They seek an annual extension of their H-1B visas. This H-1B program offers temporary US visas which permit establishments and companies in hiring skilled overseas professionals, to work in areas experiencing shortages of American workers who are qualified. Such an increase in green cards to be issued each year will reduce the waiting period of the applicants in a big way. The green card permits a person to reside/work on a permanent basis in the USA. It mainly benefits Mexicans, Indians, Chinese, and Philippines.

It is supposed to be a rational solution that will secure the borders, provide the finest support to the frontline defenders, take measures towards strengthening interior enforcement and act hard on those immigration lawbreakers. With a dynamic President, there is a prospect to provide top security and firm rule of law.

It is likely to eliminate the chain migration of Indian Americans who had a plan to make arrangements for their family members to arrive in the US. The Act seeks removal of green card programs for all relatives. There is a provision to create a temporary visa exclusively for parents of visa holders which will be renewable and also unite families without costing anything to the taxpayers. Another aim of the legislation is creating a practical programme meant for agricultural guest workers for the growth of the US economy.

It will arrange for the modernisation of the immigration system of America and make it suitable for the subsequent generations. It is a measure of undertaking conservative reforms to strengthen the nation. The legislation is associated with the immigration priorities of the White House and works to combine enforcement and border security measures for better public safety. It will, make sure that the door is kept open for honest immigrants, and also restore the rule of law. The White House has stated that this legislation will help in accomplishing the priorities to benefit the Americans.
