Higher than 91,000 immigration applicants have provided their expressions of interest by Arrima online portal of Quebec since it began last year Sept — 06 months controlled by the increase of the province’s current government of Coalition Avenir Québec.

The Arrima online portal was started on Sept 18, 2018, to control profiles provided to the Program of Quebec Skilled Worker later it was changed to an Expression Of Interest system by the former Liberal government, which then defeated in the general election of the Quebec conducted on Oct 1, 2018, to the Coalition Avenir Québec (C.A.Q).

An expression of interest system needs enthusiastic applicants to build a profile and then entered into the group of applicants for the Program of Quebec Skilled Worker.

Profiles hold information on applicants education, work experience, training in particular area and knowledge in French, with other information, and invitations to appeal for a Quebec Selection Certificate (C.S.Q) may be announced to applicants depends on these and other possible factors, such as labor demand in a given Quebec region.

Immigration Ministry of Quebec Plans to Announce Invitations

To date, Immigration Ministry of Quebec, known by its French initials M.I.D.I, has yet to start announcing invitations to those in this current bank of applicants.

Simon Jolin-Barrette, Quebec Immigration Minister, told M.I.D.I have to deal initially with the backlog of approximately 18,000 appeals that were provided to the Program of Quebec Skilled Worker below the former first-come, the first-served basis that the E.O.I system substituted.

The Quebec government has introduced dismissing the backlog applications so it can concentrate on the EOI presented through Arrima.

Quebec Immigration Minister, however, tells the E.O.I system is quite suited to approaching Quebec’s labor requirements because it provides MIDI to recognize and select applicants whose work experience meets present jobs in the province.

Eliminating the backlog would also benefit to cut the processing time of application for a C.S.Q from 36 months to 06 months, Jolin-Barrette has discussed.

The Quebec news agency TVA states that 91,307 candidate profiles have been presented to the Program of Quebec Skilled Worker by the Arrima portal since it began on Sept 18, 2018 — just a couple of weeks prior to the CAQ’s election.

The CAQ tells its policies of immigration are meant to assure that immigrants to Quebec are better combined into the primarily French-speaking province and perfectly matched to current job openings.
