The Australian high commission made a statement on Friday that they have sent back all 79 Sri Lankans to Australia who entered Australia illegally by boat in October. Xinhua reported from The Colombian high commission said that the last six Sri Lankans had joined the group of 73 others last week, and were returned to Sri Lanka after they arrived illegally by boat and were being screened out of a protection assessment process. The new policy implemented by Australia sends a very strong message that anyone who arrives illegally to Australia by boat will be sent back to Sri Lanka.

Country by Australia
Scott Morrison, the immigration and border protection minister said that the Australian government policies are getting stricter and tougher day by day and people who are wanting to come to Australia and stay here illegally must know that they cant just come here without a visa. Since October 2012 more than 1,100 people have arrived to Australia by boat and they all have been sent back to their homes. Australia and Sri Lanka have joined hands together and are cooperating with each other on an operational level to disrupt these people smuggling business said Scott Morrison.

Scott Morrison said the Australian government does not deal in half measures and we have strong policies to fig people smugglers and stopping any illegal people from entering into Australia by boats. He said that the Australian government would continue to send people back who enter Australia illegally by boat. The three-decade was in Sri Lanka has ended in 2009, but the numbers of asylum seekers is till increasing, which is forcing the Australian government to take drastic measures so that they cannot reach Australia.

In Sri Lanka itself 1.500 people were arrested when they tried to leave the country by boat. The Australian is working very closely with the Sri Lankan navy to prevent and monitor any boat people from Sri Lanka trying to enter into Australia illegal and has also started implementing programmes to discourage local people from trying to immigrate in an illegal manner.
