117th Express Entry
Recent Express Entry Draw Details

The Canadian Government invited 500 Federal Skilled Trades Class applicants with Scores of Comprehensive Ranking as less as 332 to appeal for Canada PR in a latest Express Entry Draw conducted on May 15.

The program special draw was the initial one since 24 Sept 2018, to target applicants in the Class of Federal Skilled Trades, which is accessible to global nationals with a qualification certificate that shows they are eligible to work in a skilled trade profession in Canada OR a suitable employment offer in Canada.

FSTC National Occupational Classification Categories

Skilled work experience suitable for the FSTC comes below the following Canadian National Occupational Classification (N.O.C) categories:

Minor Group 632: Cooks and Chefs

Minor Group 633: Bakers and Butchers

Major Group 72: Electrical, Industrial, and construction trades

Major Group 73: Equipment operation and Maintenance Trades

Major Group 82: Technical jobs and Supervisors in natural resources, agriculture, and similar production

Major Group 92: Manufacturing, Processing, and central control operators and utilities supervisors

The Federal Skilled Trades Class is one among the 03 economic class programs of immigration run by the Canadian Express Entry system, with the remaining two being the Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Worker Class.

Qualified candidates are assigned a score below Comprehensive Ranking System (C.R.S) of Express Entry that depends on parameters such as the age of the Candidate, educational qualification, skilled work experience and knowledge in French or English and is enrolled into the Federal Express Entry pool.

Applicants in the Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Worker Class with work experience in a suitable trade would have been recognized in the recent draw if they announced their experience in a skilled trade and maintain the needed qualification certificate OR employment offer.

Unlike all-program rounds of invitation, which draw from the whole pool of Express Entry and lead to result in greater cut-off CRS scores, niche draws for a particular cohort can deliver lesser cut-off scores given they aim for a smaller candidates pool.

Present Draw's CRS cut-off score is 332 and it was 106 points lesser than the minimum cut-off score in all Express Entry draws in 2019 was 438.

Higher admission goals for Express Entry in the years 2019 and 2020, present draw comparatively small draw with 500 applicants. More significant all program draws may follow in the future.
